Free Speech, Hate Speech, the UN and Youtube

Hate speech is basically an impossible concept. All you have to do is turn up your sensitivities and then EVERYTHING counts as hate speech. Due to its subjective nature its essentially unworkable. Islam is very good at getting offended by almost anything, as is scientology. Both are very heavy on trying to classify people who call them on their psychotic beliefs as hate-mongers. Further the recent UN resolution to attempt to criminalize blasphemy is both a step in the wrong direction and is unworkable. However when people are using their free speech to advocate the killing of others, they have broken the law. But what to do when such a minority constitutes a significant portion of the population? Options include education of western values, imprisonment, or segregation. Naturally if they can present a convincing argument in an open forum for changing the law, then thats fair enough, but before you have to acknowledge that you are not allowed to threaten anyone who disagrees with you with death or violence. Finally youtube. C0ctapus got suspended. He helped out with our recent protest against youtube. Apparently no reason was given. I dont remember too much about his videos other than they were of a similar topic (the problems with religion etc) to this channel. He also was a supporter of free speech. Thetaomega had a satire of Fred Phelps taken down: www.youtube.com C0ct0pus is back at: www.youtube.com

About the UN the devil is in the details. Yes superficially it might look like the US, but for example I don’t want to see countries like Chile or Nicaragua punished because they do not legalize fetal homicide. I also don’t want to see America under UN authority be forced to punish Americans for spanking or homeschooling.

  • JohananRaatz says:

If you want to deal with global warming or other global issues there is a simple solution for that that does not involve the UN and allows us to keep Islamism under control. Simply allow us to imperialize the globe, and we will make any nation that goes Islamofascist pay for the bulk of carbon credits.

I personally have nothing against Jews, but i am sick and tired of hearing them whine.

  • ohdudeyeah says:

Lol is it really illeagal to deny it. Cause i’m GLAD i live in the great U.s. of A cause i deny it left and right. Sure, yes, a bunch of jews died. But nobody, NOBODY cares about the far greater number of Russians that died. About the Bataan death marches. About any of the cruel and unsual punish ments the japs inflicted on the Chinese. Jews will always be Jews, constantly complaining about their own problem and never realizing they aren’t the only people that went through hardships.

I’m am a aussie and if fred w phelps said that to me on the street i would i would hit him really hard with a very big stick free speech or not.

  • ValueFreedom says:

I agree with freedom of speech, even from those who I don’t agree with, but I don’t agree with the UN and the one world government. There’s enough corruption and abuse of peoples rights and freedoms from our current governments, we don’t need a massive world gov to enhance more of the same. UN human rights on free speech? Check YT for them allowing the arrests of ppl who tried to exercise their freedom of speech and expression at COP15. Preventative arrests no less, for crimes they might do.

@KingRadbadical1988 If you don’t like government, Afghanistan is to place to be!

  • cigolone1 says:

Whether you say bullshit or not doesn’t change the fact that these people have been jailed for “Holocaust Denial and hate speech”:

David Irving, Fredrick Töben, Ernst Zündel, Germar Rudolf, Ahmed Rami and MANY more, these are more of the famous once.

When you see that many people go to jail, then it’s basically pointless to research the Holocaust and trying to find out the truth since it’s just a Dictatorship in disguise as a Democracy.
    Hypocrites! I say.

  • KingRadbadical1988 says:

@cigolone1 Well that’s bullshit!!! NOONE should go to jail for talking trash no matter HOW stupid the trash they talk is.

You’re only going to make racists more angry and hateful. Putting human beings in cages doesn’t solve anything.

The hate speech laws in Europe make me hate Jews. Kinda like how the Patriot Act makes me hate 9/11-victim-worshipers.

  • KingRadbadical1988 says:

The psychotic conservatism here in America and the psychotic liberalism in Europe are both examples of society being fucked over by too much government. And us put together make the entire first world, is this REALLY the best planet Earth has to offer?

I’ve heard of people being locked up just for being anti-Illuminati. FUCK governments. And fuck racists too but the fact that its ILLEGAL to deny the holocaust in Europe is what MAKES me believe the holocaust never happened. What are they hiding?

  • Notnowredman says:

wow, I so want to fallow anyone that opens up with ‘god hates….’

  • Giru5 says:

There’s a fine line between ‘just free speech’ and ‘hate speech’, and the line is drawn differently for every individual. therefore, this problem can not be solved by the systems of law and government.

  • OttawaAnon1001 says:

In Canada its only hate speech if you incite violence against a distinguishable group. You can opine your personal feelings about anyone you like, just dont try to talk others into hurting them.

I vaguely remember reading that someone dismissed the holocaust as myth as was facing jail time. The guy sounded like a prick who would be well served with time in jail, but I think the speech laws in most of Europe are far too strict and he shouldn’t go to jail for that reason.

  • cigolone1 says:

Ok. Well. Here in Europe I can be sent to prison for several YEARS for expressing doubt about the Holocaust.

  • OttawaAnon1001 says:

Nope thats just ignoring history, which happens all the time.

Saying you think all the Jews should have been sent to a gas chamber… thats hate speech

  • cigolone1 says:

There was no Gas-Chamber Holocaust of the Jews. Should I be able to say such things? Is THIS considered “hate speech”?

  • viperxeon says:

Yeah well YouTube’s scene of free speech is as warped as the bible.

  • ThatIsNotDeadWhich says:

It would seem to me that you are applying a slippery slope argument here. The mere fact that there is no bright line which separates acceptable satire and legitimate political agitation from racist propaganda does not mean that it is impossible to draw useful distinctions.

And while the state may not be the best venue for shutting down far-right garbage-mongers, shut down they must be. Far-right speech is amply demonstrated to lead to far-right action. Action that we can ill afford to permit.

all current members are sovereign states, please name the tyrants

  • baigandine says:

The problem with the UN is you’ve got all sorts of different governments thrown in there, from the best to the most tyrannical. It’s not like the United States. The countries in the UN do not all agree on any single overarching principle.

  • Tapecutter59 says:

I’m an Aussie too, the guy is not against us in particular, he is a genuine phycopath / sociopath and is against all of humaity except the church he founded and filled with a half dozen of his family memebers. The only difference between him and Charles Manson is that Manson actually killed people.

  • bekajan says:

    I agree with.

  • coffee396 says:

Dude, I was totally being stupid, I was acting like that asshole on the video, Aussies are super cool.
