What impact has our gigantic information network had on politics?

Wе now hаνе C-SPAN, 24 hours news feeds οn TV, websites fοr еνеrу politician аnd οr government entity. Politicians υѕе twitter аnd face book tο lеt people know thеіr еνеrу gο. Iѕ аll οf thіѕ information doing υѕ аnу ехсеllеnt, οr аrе wе receiving tοο much information? Arе wе wе becoming desensitized? Arе wе being overloaded аnd focusing tοο much οn politics?
I wаѕ looking fοr аn objective pledge tο mу qυеѕtіοn, nοt a politically biased view οn whether οr nοt one station οr another іѕ broadcasting thе truth. Please stick tο thе qυеѕtіοn.

Real transparency, huh? (maybe next week)

  • Sweet Sweet Sarah says:

The gotcha lamestream media is hurting America by censuring the truth. This has got to stop so that the truth of limited freedoms anf death panels will finally come out in the full light of day.

its getting a lot harder for the conservatives to spread their lies no that anyone had the ability to check the facts, it doesn’t stop them from trying though

Unfortunately more people are really less knowledgeable. We have stations like Fox non-News out there spreading misinformation 24/7 and Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glen Beck spewing their garbage on the radio all day. Shows like the ones plotted above should be required to carry a disclaimer that they are infotainment and not information or news.

Attention spans and tales cycle too quickly. Tiem isn’t spent on tales that really deserve it. It’s all in one ear and out the other.

I reckon that is has had a fantastic impression on the citizens……….. we now have more information on a timely basis and can keep up with issues.

But, I do not reckon that the impression is that fantastic on the politicians and government……….. it seems that they still do whatever they wish, often against the margin opinion of the people they represent. They continue to hide much of their dealings behind closed doors and refuse to post information on the internet and allow feedback before making their decisions.

Boredom & apathy. & the propensity for sheep to stay on the largest lie as long as there’s something in it for them has become tthe norm.

I reckon it has a huge effect. Information is a fantastic thing, and the ability to check facts is gorgeous.

Years ago we never had this ability. We could check the local paper, maybe get the New York Times, whatever, some local TV stations, a bit of radio news, but most of the population was drastically misinformed.

this is why they made the Electorate.

Now, any information is unfilled to anyone who seeks it. I can tell by the answers on Yahoo, people are really getting involved. I go to other sites too, and see similar reactions. I reckon it is fantastic.
