We had a fable from our headmaster about a guy who worked on a conveyor belt. Every day he had to pick up a screw, screw it into a nut, and put it back. That’s all, over and over again, every day.
Then one day he was so dispirited that he thought, sod it, I’m not screwing the screw into the nut any more. And the result was: all the combine harvesters produced in that factory fell apart, causing outrage, fatalities, and even a governmental inquiry.

Izzard’s a little more cliched and coy, and spends time trying to be witty where Gervais already is. I still think Izzard’s fantastically funny, but Gervais is only that much better.
