Who else thought it was ridiculous to bring up politics during the VMA Awards?

I аm enjoying myself watching ѕοmе stupid TV ѕhοw аnd аll οf a sudden, hear “Vote fοr Obama” іn mid sentence. I watch shows οthеr thаn thе news tο gеt away frοm politics, thеn MTV decides tο bring up politics.

It іѕ purely ridiculous.

yes, i absolutely agree. once russell started talking about Obama, i was absolutely annoyed & i turned it off.

i mean i absolutely respect all obama voters, but to associate a fun event w/ politics was just ridiculous.

I don’t watch MTV, but I know they’ve always done material like that. I like to escape politics, too.

I’m glad I’m not the only one…..I have no thought where they found that guy…he’s horrible.

It’s a election year, MTV always had a history of birging up politics, especially Rock the Vote.

Plus it’s excellent to wake people up drowned out to MTV to reality.

I watch the VMAs every year but as soon as he started talking about Obama and Palin’s daughter, I turned the channel!

at any award show you can expect some political jokes but this guy was blatantly over the line. I was appalled by the things he was saying not just about the election, but his other jokes as well. They were not amusing, they were offensive and made him and MTV, look very terrible. Like making fun of the jonas brothers for being virgins. He went on for like 10 summary about it, and it was just so rude and disgusting.

I also turned it off for the same reason. Besides why is a britt meddling in our politics?

He is really out of place.

  • La Femme Nikita says:

Yes, very inappropriate.Who does this guy reckon he is?

    I heard about that! Wtf?

  • Mickey says:

I agree too, what happened on the VMA’s last night was sickening. I reckon that MTV lowered their standards by allowing that…..I for one will stop watching MTV.

    McCain/Palin in 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s really the only time a celebrity gets to voice there opinion to such a wide audience… I mean , other than the RNC or DMC, were they are on the news or other news stations like MSNBC, FOXNEWS, etc, where else are they going to be able to get to a younger audience?
I agree with you…sometimes you need a break,…but other than this award show, there is no other time before the November election…plus it makes them feel vital, like they are doing something to offset there other shitty celebrity behavior 364 days of the year

I watched the VMA’s just for some mindless entertainment when Brand brings up “Vote for Obama”. Throughout the show he kept harping on it to the point I was yelling “shut up” back at the tv. At a show like this politics has no place. It was like he was trying to hard to be amusing but he just came across like a dull fool.
