The rabbi is attempting to take Judaism back from the Zionists, that does not mean that Zionists are not religiously motivated, they simply have a different interpretation of Judaism. Many Israelis disagree vehemently with Haredi Jews so citing this rabbi concerning the motivations of Zionists makes no sense.
