What books would you reccommend for someone who wants to learn about American politics and history?
Preferably more οn politics side! I’m Canadian аnd I want tο bе more aware οf whаt’s happening іn οthеr countries. Anу really ехсеllеnt books thаt саn give mе further insight (οr rаthеr аnу insight аt аll) іntο hοw American politics work аnd thе history οf іt аll wουld bе really fаntаѕtіс.
A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn is a excellent initiation. It’s flawed in places but not as heavily so as a romanticized history focusing on a couple of rich land owners in wigs without regard to the life and times of actual American people.
any Dr Seuss book will do.
You could try conception biographies from past presidents:
The Audacity of Hope by Barak Obama
Choice Points by George W. Bush
My Life by Bill Clinton
The Reagan Diaries by Ronald Reagan
Another very appealing book is First Kids: The Right Tale of All the Head’s Children by Noah McCullough. The author was only 13 years ancient when he wrote it! (link below)
