Hagan hopes the voters are too stupid to figure out her con game.

North Carolina state champion pork slinger enters Senate race. In her campaign opening statement, Kay Hagan rants:

"How can Washington reject health care for 123,000 North Carolina children"

Answer

Washington can do it the same way Kay Hagan does it. Combine a warped sense of priorities with the need to buy votes for the next election, almost any politician who relies on the intellectually challenged segment of the voters can do it. Now she tosses out blame to those in D.C. for doing the same thing she's been doing all along.

Half a million for a garden in Greensboro.
Half a million to study the equine industry.
Half a million to construct a music hall in High point.
One hundred fifty thousand for Triad Stage.
Five million to the N.C. Arts Council.
One hundred thousand to the Greensboro Symphony Society.
Twenty five thousand for two paintings to hang in the Senate chambers. Do what?
One million for outdoor dramas and Shakespearean festivals.
These items come from a quick glance at just the bills she sponsored last year.
Here's the link.Check the jaw dropping nonsense for yourself.

That money could buy an awful lot of health insurance for North Carolina children. If we could find just 9 more State Senators and bring them back to economic reality, we would just about cover the 123,000 North Carolina children at Blue Cross retail rates. If some of the more intelligent ones shopped for a discount, we could be merciful and let a couple of those State Senators stay stupid.

Then she goes on:

", while continuing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on this mismanaged war?"

The federal government is spending money we don't have and Hagan demands they spend even more. That kind of budgetary attitude is sure to spend the United States into bankruptcy.

There is no shortage of valid reasons for anyone to enter the Senate contest and oppose Ms. Dole. Most could even use the SCHIP votes and vetos as a good campaign talking point. But when it comes from the mouth of a wild spender like Kay Hagan, this line of reasoning borders on the perverse.

Let us not forget that Hagan's Appropriations Committee tossed in another 400 grand in state funds for the now world foumous TEAPOT MUSEUM, a project which is withering on vine since the people of this nation and the state of North Caroliana have learned about it.
