Every Congressman, every Senator knows about the Fair Tax. All of them who have an I.Q. two points higher than a pine tree have studied the Fair Tax. Many of them still resist, trying to make the lamest excuses, all of which are debunked on the Fair Tax website. Make no mistake. It's all about holding power over you, and the contributions they receive when their pals get tax breaks through the impossible to decipher IRS Code.

There are those who instinctively argue against the Fairtax, using whatever line of reasoning they can come up with, usually nonsense, grasping at whatever straws they can. It makes one wonder how far they are willing to go, straining their own credibility, to protect various businesses, like the tax and accounting industry, or their political cronies who reap mountains of money from various deductions and credits from the present income tax system.

Their nonsense can range from distortions to outright lies. One thing you can count on is that anyone who argues against the Fairtax in favor of the incredibly stupid system in place now, has something else going on. Either they haven't taken the time to study it, or they are being paid by someone who stands to lose power and influence through the elimination of the present system.
