With the awsome might of the United States Military available, making war on other nations has become all too easy. It is time for the Senate and Congress to enact legislation that requires the President to LEAD the armed forces into battle, NOT SEND them in. If the cause is just, our leadership needs to demonstrate dedication and will to sacrifice itself along with the troops. The President can do the leading and the Vice President can sit at home fat dumb and happy in a secure location. That way, the succession of leadership is safe. If the Army would allow me, I will be happy to jump in with the 82d Airborne. Should I cast a vote to go to war, then I should be willing to support my vote with my actions. Anything less is cowardice. Senators and Congressmen are replacable too.

If and when the bombs fall from the sky or are driven in trucks into Washington, DC, The president and members of congress need to show courage and stay at their posts, not run for their hidey holes like cowards. The leadership of this country has no right to run for protection when protection for the rest of the people has not been provided. Besides, there's not a whole lot to be gained from the survival of a government that gets us into that kind of mess.
