What in the world can I say about all the hooraw concerning same sex marriages. I guess there are folks out there who think the courts are going to force them marry homosexuals. The Congress has already passed the Defense of Marriage Act, and the President, a Democrat signed it into law. There is nothing more that the House and Senate can do, and any attempt at repeal would cause the Capitol building to be stormed by mobs of outraged right wingers carrying pitch forks and torches, so get over it.

If the courts attempt to re-define marriage, they will find no acceptable precedent for a guide. They won't even be able to decree that marriage has to be a one and one contract, at least not with a straight face. Using history and other societies as a guide will do them no good. The alternatives there would be a hard sell with the American people.

I think the whole issue will provide us with many months and even years of hilarious entertainment as various polarized factions cheer from the sidelines while the judges scratch their heads trying to figure out what to do without getting themselves lynched by howling mobs.

Unfortunately, there some "conservatives" who need to use "queer fear" as part of their platform. Real problems and real dangers must take a back seat for them. Freedom is fine and good for them as long as it doesn't offend their view of how God wants them to run this country.
