Rick Perry ‘agencies’ gaffe at GOP debate Well Rick Perry had the most memorable moment of Wednesday night’s CNBC debate, even though it was a moment when he couldn’t remember what he was talking about.When Perry tried to name the three federal agencies he would like to eliminate if he is elected president, but he was able to name just two: the Commerce and Education Departments. Perry received some assistance from Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), who suggested that he should actually eliminate five agencies. At another point, someone else helpfully suggested that perhaps Perry was talking about the Environmental Protection Agency. He said that agency wasn’t it, and ended with a simple, “Oops”:PERRY: I will tell you, it is three agencies of government when I get there that are gone. Commerce, Education, and the — What’s the third one there? Let’s see.PERRY: Five. Okay. Commerce, Education, and the PERRY: EPA. There you go. Q: Seriously — is EPA one you are talking about? I want to give you a better idea of how to look at the 7 Republican candidates from the GOP debate on CNN from 06/13/2011. I’ve taken each of the candidates, isolated their answers, and will upload one a day over the next 7 days. You will be able to watch one or all of them, and get a better understanding of where they stand. This is different than a simple interview, because they are competing for attention with 6 others. Also, if one of these makes it to the general election, you can see where they stood on issues early on. I should also note, that there is a pattern to how the questions are posed. If a question is asked to the candidate directly, then the question will be shown.
