The “questions” in the politics section are USUALLY NOT real questions and are subtle attempts to impose the asker’s view on others.

It’s really funny, but that bad part is that when you have a serious question no one takes it seriously and the people that answer answer with fallacious, invalid arguments.
I don’t think that getting in a heated argument about politics justifies the variety of logical fallacies I have encountered in the politics section.

Most of the answers I’ve seen there are personal attacks that don’t add strength or support to an argument or answer.
Personal attacks, red herrings, and straw men.

Introduction to Political Philosophy (PLSC 114) Professor Smith discusses the nature and scope of “political philosophy.” The oldest of the social sciences, the study of political philosophy must begin with the works of Plato and Aristotle, and examine in depth the fundamental concepts and categories of the study of politics. The questions “which regimes are best?” and “what constitutes good citizenship?” are posed and discussed in the context of Plato’s Apology.
