Can anyone recommend a good book on government and politics in England? Particularly about government in the 70s and the Thatcher period?

A local politician said the ambush-killing of five people on Saturday afternoon in a village in San Pascual, Masbate, might have been motivated by politics and done by a private armed group.

Preferably more on politics side! I’m Canadian and I want to be more aware of what’s happening in other countries. Any really good books that can give me further insight (or rather any insight at all) into how American politics work and the history of it all would be really great.

Is it majoritarian, enterpreneurial, client, or interest-group politics? Or a combination of the four?

Im currently a 18 year old college student how can I prepare for a career in politics?

I know the media is full of spin and crap that favors one side or the other. But when I ask for a logical answer in the politics section I get alot of users who just use spin and crap in formulating an answer. I like to get answers with minimal bias but it appears many people just can’t provide a logical, down to earth, without spin type of answer. WHY???!!

Why can individuals think independently with logic without resorting to spin in the politics section?

Please provide your insight to this. Thank you for your time and answers.
