The Walter Reed Hospital horror is just the tip of the iceberg! The VA, along with the Army, is busy screwing our Veterans any way they can. Read this article from The Nation's website. I'll forgive you if it makes you sick and you have to take a break and come back later. Rest assured that these named doctors and their commanders will be testifying in front of a Senate committee before I am through with this business. The Bill of Rights prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, but in this situation, heads impaled on pikes in front of the Capitol dome is completely within reason. See the "NEW RULES" page. This is what we can do about it. Pentagon Tally Omits 20,000 Vets' Brain Injuries. ABC News story VA Hospital at Marion, Ill. screws up big time. The Department of Veterans Affairs released the results of two investigations into concerns involving patient care at its Marion, Ill. hospital. VA will begin contacting veterans and families of veterans who are believed to have been harmed by surgical care at the facility within the past two years to review their care with them, and known instances of substandard care will be disclosed. The Medical Inspector's report is available, in a PDF file. The cowards blanked out the names of those responsible, but we'll find out eventually FOR OUR VETERANS It will be one of my first proposed pieces of legislation that all employees and contractors of the Veterans administration sign a contract promising to place service to the veteran at the top of their priorities and to spare no effort and ingenuity to do so. They will also promise to notify superiors, and through the chain of command, the Executive, the Congress, and Military, of any rules, regulations, laws, and individuals that hinder this service. I will also propose a resolution that the Congress and Senate agree to give top priority to the correction of these hinderances. 200 years ago Napoleon knew that the one of the keys to the spirit of his armies was the care of his veterans. Expenditures for this purpose were on the top of his priority list, not way down at the bottom. If we do not take care of our vets, time will come when we have no more volunteers to defend our country. I owe a special thanx to Captain Ralph Parrott SC, USN (ret) for his EMPOWERING VETERANS web site. His links to news stories EXPOSING NEGLECT AND DENIAL OF BENEFITS are a powerful reminder of how far we have to go in making sure our gallant defenders are cared for when they return home. |
